Power is a promise
To uphold the less deserving
While sooth
The higher earning

Tie to tie
The young and the old
Why
Fortune favours which of them is bold

Power is a pledge
To keep all in check
But all are on a ledge
The daring is the pick

More outspoken
And more logic laden
A spirit's that's broken
To break the maid and the maiden
Power is a balance
To make sure are all in
But not a chance
Those who lose can win

So is power pure?
Knowing it will cleanse?
Knowing for sure
Offense and defence?

Power is hungry
And it needs human sacrifice
Powerless are angry
Hope is the ultimate price
