Prague Spring Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Prague Spring

If the voice speaks
loudly, to the people from behind bars
silence the voice
of the world stage

on the square, women screaming
with closed mouths
words inaccessible
to the ears of the agressors

across the Karelbridge
the resistance runs dead
into a future of oppression
and uncertainty
