Prayers In School Poem by Randy McClave

Prayers In School

Prayer was never taken out of school
Anyone that believes or preaches that is a fool,
Anybody or anyone can always pray
Whenever at school at anytime or on any day.
No matter your belief or your religion
You can pray your prayer in any school in any region,
And unto the heavens all can hear your voice
As that is your right and by all means your choice.
You have the freedom to speak and to write
For your own beliefs you have the authority to fight,
As long as you cause no one physical harm or pain
You can say what you want in your campaign.
In school you can clasp your hands together to say a prayer
You can pray in any class or at anytime or anywhere,
You can pray anywhere that you want to
But, you can't ever coerce others to pray with you.

Remember what our Lord Jesus had taught
About praying and what to do and what not,
He said, 'When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites'
Standing in the synagogues and on the street corners in their outfits.
They want to be seen by men to hear and see their praying
So, they can hear every word that they are saying,
So, instead of others looking for him
Those hypocrites, want people to look at them.
When you pray go to a room or a closet and close the door
Then pray to your father as you had prayed before,
Your father is unseen so when you pray, pray quiet
Jesus said, to pray in private.
