Presence Of Compassion. Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Presence Of Compassion.

An expressed presence of compassion,
Is still there.
Shown by those who feel it felt.
Although very few are holding their breath.
Expecting signs of compassion shown,
From one in an unrelenting ego mode.
Clearly self obsessed.
Surrounded by possessions and gets upset,
When attention sought to get...
Is focused upon those living in terror.
As one they have chosen,
Uses their dire straits...
To laugh at their predicament.
And in their faces accuses them,
Of creating their own horror.
A horror they have created for themselves.
And although,
This evil heard to hear it expressed...
Can not be denied by them to be true.
Or misconstrued as a false statement made.

The presence of compassion,
To know it shown.
And expected to be expressed.
Is just,
Another addressing of political correctness.
To reflect what should be,
A normal reaction seen to believe.
But those who choose reality to live it.
Have given up ideals.
And fantasized interpretations.
