Pretty And Beautiful Poem by Bryan Taplits

Pretty And Beautiful

No wonders are as chaste as these
No marvels in swan-songs,
Is the difference between the tip of my hat
to Spring
And the beauty of the Dawn.
And lucky I-
poor hack that I am-
To mine this brief interlude,
To at first see the Spring-
And think it no queen-
Before
Meeting the Dawn that is you.

Remember those days when first we met
When roses and lilacs
once bloomed,
When I first met the Dawn-
became willingly her pawn-
And the succeeding seasons-
Then-
Dawn-like flew.
