Price-Tag Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Price-Tag

From the price-tag of the vat-system to the price-tag of a rat,
And like the rat race in this world!
But with no compromise to expose your muse to others,
So how cam i pay my water-bills when there is no water running in my tap?

Here in Ghana with many light-outs to put us in darkness always,
And of the days in the darkness with the hope of seeing you once again;
But others do explore the negative ways to jump the bills,
And they are what we call economic thieves! !

Aluminium rod sign-plates,
'God Bless our homeland Ghana' is what they say;
But this first line of our National Anthem had never taught many!
And the price.tag of the Ghanaian still matters to me.

Parliamentarians are late to the parliament,
But that is normal in their own eyes over here in Ghana;
And the African Tea comes next with the muse of the heat,
For the Bushmen are ready with their cutlasses! !
And like the African-Time-Syndrome all over the place.

Incredible! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
This is Ghana! !
Our Beloved Country;
But the Ghanaians do love their pockets more than Ghana itself.
