Print-Out Poem by Diana van den Berg

Print-Out

Ocean-far,
I watch the sun
soften your smile
and lift it upwards,
secure and sweet.
I see your shoulders free
against an eagle-wide sky
and your hands quiet
like a butterfly on a stone.

I am so glad
that you
let me
be
your solemn solace.
