Prisoner Poem by Black Rose

Prisoner

I am a prisoner of war
A raging battle within myself
Trapped in a jail of invisible bars
Made of
Pain
A solid foundation
Layed out by me
I am a prisoner of words
Words unspoken, unsaid, unheard
I only say what you want to hear
Because you cannot take the truth
These four walls
Closing in
Faster and faster everyday
Until I
Cannot breathe
Until I
Cannot think
Until I
Am no longer human
I am a prisoner of secrets
That cannot be told
Strangling me slowly
Each clinging on
Like a ball and chain
Each bringing me down
Yet I cannot share this burden
With anyone else because
They
Will not take it
I know deep inside I have the key
To let myslef out
To finally be free
But the lock just won't fit
So I grab a knife and count to ten
You will never see me again
The cut goes deep and starts to bleed
Each dropp of blood filled with pain
The world becomes black
And white
But even in death
Am I free?
For how do you escape
When you
Are a prisoner of
Yourself
