Profiteering Thieves Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Profiteering Thieves

We all owe it to ourselves,
To be better human beings.
Instead of seeking ways,
Of receiving to deceive...
How best we can greed.
As if profiteering thieves.
Born to be blessed,
With this done as a mission.
Pleasing the wishes of God who approves!

Too many fools have been made to believe,
Things to acquired...
And pray for on bended knees.
Is a pre-requisite,
That establishes fulfilling and unending...
Happiness they have been entitled to get.
By any means possible.

Only to realize when the time is too late,
It is not their things to have had...
Depreciating on a daily basis.
But their deeds to leave more to value.
Than anything others,
Eventually discover...
Sacrifices made,
Without impressions to make.
Left them to benefit to appreciate.

We all owe it to ourselves,
To become better human beings.
With a setting of this example,
For the ones who observe.
Wanting with this to wish,
As they pray faithfully on knees...
That God shows them the way,
How this is done to please everyone.
And not the serving of their selfishness.
Or profiting to pocket from deception.
