Promise Me Nothing Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

Promise Me Nothing

I should have known something was wrong.
You were too good to be true.
I was blinded by lust
I really thought I loved you.

Waiting up all night
just to hear your voice.
All you did was lie to me
and that was all by choice.

I trusted you with everything I had.
How stupid was I?
Now you are no where to be found
just left me here to die.

Move on to someone else
and please set me free
Promise me nothing
that is all you are to me
