Promises Poem by Ronald Chapman

Promises

I think my only fear is waking up from a dream,

Why is today's sky so bright and blue?
I can not see you;

Thinking of you,
So far away,
Standing alone;

Looking out at the blue,
Ocean waves,

The promises that have passed through time between us,
I have not forgotten,

I'm always pretending,
You are standing by my side,
Talking to me;

Telling me the direction we should look,
While we walk alone on the beach,
With ocean waves caressing our feet,

My heart wishes for the day,
The promises we made, we will keep.
