Protect Our Kids Poem by Randy McClave

Protect Our Kids

We must protect all our kids!
The GOP had once again cried
I asked, "do you mean by banning child labor"?
"No! , no, no, not like that the GOP sighed".
Well how do you mean to protect our children
Do you mean to ban children from carrying guns?
No! no, no, said the GOP once again
Those are the rights for our daughters and sons.
Well do you mean to ban all gun sales
And then having a background checks?
Hell no! no, no, screamed the GOP
That would be unconstitutional and too complex.
Then how exactly do we protect our child's
They replied, "We ban books, discussions on racism and drag",
And we also ban free school lunches
And every morning our children must pledge allegiance to the flag.
