Providence Poem by Santos Taíno Santiago

Providence

I am lost in your eyes and the moonlight becomes a shadow
and all that is hollow within me becomes filled

I want to be but a familiar star within your universe,
place me somewhere along the vast beauty within your space

We will reach heaven and earth and all places in between

Warm me like the rays of the sun
in the mid August afternoon
and allow me to rest within you like the setting for the evening dusk

Call me to rise like the dawn within the twilight
in the spaces below
your horizon

I will find Providence
within you,
and we will ebb and flow
like drizzle upon an April afternoon
