Puff Puff Pass Poem by Quincy Moses

Puff Puff Pass

Puff puff pass
We gathered round in a circle
This is the only time we never lie
Reopening hidden wounds that almost became scars
How would we heal,
If we keep reminiscing about our lost wars
The battles that left our souls scared
Our enemies enslaved us in our thought
Telling us we can't escape the prison in our minds
Made us doubt ourselves
They drowned us in the river of fear
And almost buried us in guilt
But all we needed to do was change our thought
So with our little strength we fought
Puff puff pass
He passed on the torch for another to share
