Purring Kitty Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Purring Kitty

⁹A rumble deep, a gentle sound,
When happy cats are all around.
It says, 'I'm safe, I'm feeling good, '
Just as a happy kitty should.

They rub and nudge, a soft request,
'Come closer now, put me to test.
A little pet, a stroke, a hug,
Let's share this cozy, warm, snug rug.'

But sometimes, when they feel afraid,
Or hurt, or poorly, unafraid,
That rumbling comes, a mystic tune,
To soothe themselves beneath the moon.

And moms in labor, in their strain,
Will purr to ease their labor pain.
A signal soft, for tiny ears,
To find their way, dispelling fears.

So listen close, this little hum,
Says more than words, when they have come
To tell us how they truly feel,
With purrs that make our hearts reveal.
