In 2009 hundreds of people belonging to the Muslim Rohingya minority community expelled by Thailand off coast. After Myanmar denies the existence of the minorities, scores of Rohingya are rescued from boats off Indonesia coast. In 2012 Violence between Buddhists and Rohingyas Muslim in the Rakhine state in Myanmar results in dozens dying. In 2015 Myanmar Govt withdraws temporary voting rights of Rohingya Muslims.In March 2017 the UNHRC sets up investigation into alleged human rights violations against Rohingyas by the mYanmar army. In Aug/Sep 2017 Rohingyas insurgents attack police stations in Rakhine state,12 are killed. Thousands of Rohingyas flleing into Bangladesh. And there is a call for a Humanitarian pause to deal with refugee crisis. Mysnmar authority refuse truce. India urges Myanmar to handle the situation with restraint.
