Pyramids Poem by Ima Ryma

Pyramids

Back in the days of Egypt old
We pyramids were built so that
The Pharaohs and their royal fold
Would mummy in grand habitat.
Slave labor made us come to be,
Building us each up stone by stone.
And with each death of royalty,
We became more a treasure zone.
But age of modern times did bring
Grave robbers to clean us all out.
Each of us got an emptying.
The glory days were gone no doubt.

We pyramids, all mummies gone,
Now here for tourists to climb on.
