Quest Or Chase Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Quest Or Chase

Rating: 5.0

Humanity is on wane
We must do whatever we can
We may perish not because of nature
But due to our folly for spoiling the future

We are digging our own grave
Acclaim victory and call ourselves brave
Show it as parameter for progress
Leaving behind trail of smoke as trace

We are still sleeping
Time is not far away for weeping
Nature is relenting under pressure
All unpleasant actions for sure

America is facing it as first shot
Turning whole continent as hot
Now snow is covering under thick smoke
Wait for some more harsh strokes

Thailand is reeling under flood
People are starving for the want of food
What else you need as proof
You may loose not only land but roof

China has witnessed and some more may
Africa has seen famines holocaust and sway
Desert is experiencing snow and hills a draught
Where else you may go and still helplessly caught

You have polluted water, air and earth belt
The tremors are now intermittently felt
The earth belt is sliding and giving away
In near future we may have the heavy prize to pay

Future generations may be weak
They may have nothing to speak
We may leave behind dark future
As there may be nothing more to assure

You spent billions on outer space
Where as millions die on earth surface
How many more you may kill only for mad race?
Where will you stop with this so called chase?
