How many times will I say I love you
Only to find I speak it only in my thoughts?
How often will I turn to you
To find your back turned to me?
How many times will I lose myself in your beauty
Only to find the path again through painful sorrow?
Why do I resist my love of you
In hopes of a stronger, future love?
While through my wait I live a life
Of sorrow, confusion, and isolation?
Why must my most scornful of enemies
Be my most dearest of friends?
