Quiet Was The Night
I put my hand over your face once
Ran it down from top to bottom
Felt your eyes, nose, mouth
Then ears
Your face came alive
Right in front of my eyes
And I saw you as in broad daylight
Down to the smallest detail
You slept peacefully by my side
But when I opened my eyes to see you
It was pitch black
And quiet was the night
