Quirky Quercus Poem by Gianni Barbieri

Quirky Quercus

Silent amongst bloom
til mid May
witnessing first then
last to display

For April comes
all is in swing
but those of Oak
are wise to spring

As Aries may be first
to flame it's fire
cold is He, at
Sun's retire

So those lumbered saints
matron of the wood
they only burst green
exactly when they should
