Days are widening
we all turn to face it
Plenty trees a-budding
but one left now naked
A blessed spirit
they lit the season's flame
Bountiful flourishings
adorning my lane
Exchanging bees for
their first spring offerings
When that damp morning
shows after hardwoods blossoming
Then lovely white petals
dressing my car roof
With scents of joy
my nose cannot refute
Fresh floral shampoo
for Nature's gentle bathe
Joy I feel when she lets them go
and joy I'd feel if they stayed
