Quo Vadis? Poem by indira babbellapati

Quo Vadis?

Rating: 5.0

we coo-ed with koels
we chirped with birds
we buzzed with bees
we bloosomed with buds
we ate ripened fruit fell on earth
we collected flowers that trees discarded
we waited for buds to express themselves
we ate under open sky
we slept under star-lit sky
we took siestas under the trees
we took shelter under giant green canopies
we filled our nostrils with mixture of damp earth, foliage and flowers

we once weathered with seasons
we are now cut off from seasons
we are now in a virtual world
we are now condemned to a limited living

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Nice expression and flow in the poem. Should blossomed be changed to blossomed?

Your poem reminds me of sayings of R.N. Tagore: Give me back wood in lieu of civilization and Matatma Ghandhi-ji: Go back to ‘bullock-cart-age’…you’ve posed very aptly and poetically ably Quo Vadis? Finally you conclude: ‘…we are now in a virtual world/we are now condemned to a limited living….we’ve net us in ‘self-imprisonment’…and [? ] Enjoy ‘self-torture-tingle [STT]’ … Nuclear family …is nuclear bomb lolol… radiation of self-imposed-radiation-effect we’re enjoying its STT 10+ Ms. Nivedita UK

We are forcing ourselves. We have tripped the self-destruct switch.
