Raiders On The Steppes: Riding Into Europe Conquering Poem by Terence George Craddock

Raiders On The Steppes: Riding Into Europe Conquering

I am the wild horseman watching
over crest of hill
hawk eyes surveying
all land beneath before kill...

coveted treasures
lie loam locked laid fallow fasting
in rich green pastures
green ripe plunder pastures...

by hand of strength
heart mind of muscle skill steel
will trinkets
be taken raid rapid ride blood rivers...

hand shall wield
new blade so sharp refined enduring
wonder rise
sate mightiest sword fire forged in furnaces...

molten metal flows
river swift to sword mold waiting
blood sword wounds
flow in prey hunted lands ash dying...

civilized men fall
to hawk eyes swift raid conquest riding
by hand of iron strength
heart mind of forged steel killing...

death descends
from wild cruel wilderness regions raiding
shadow darkness savages
civilized lives wind hunting killing feasting...
