Rain [1] Poem by Gert Strydom

Rain [1]

Come like a blanket to cover me
in a soft sieving mist
and even if the sun
still shines,

come fall down
from the grey sky,
hang in sparkling drops,
on the leaves of every tree,

bath the drooping willow
in a shower of spray,
let your drops in water flow
and make the black road steam,

catch me in the open
and ruffle through my hair
and let your blessing
be everywhere.
