Rain (My First Poem) Poem by Aswathi Nair K

This is my first poem. I wrote it when i was 10 years old. According to me it is not as good as 'The everlasting smile'.


Rain - the most beautiful
of Mother Nature's gifts
which can bring up my spirits
when it is as low as the ground.
The pitter-patter of rain drops
bring joy to my mind,
it makes me a child once again....

I remember the rainy days
in my childhood,
when we spent all our time
splashing through the water,
sailing boats in it
imagining the little puddles
to be the mighty sea.

And now when I remember
those good old days,
I understand that life is not full of sorrow
or full of grief
It is also as joyful as the rain
which can bring up the spirits of many mortals....
