Rain On My Wings Poem by Lamina Ifeoluwa

Rain On My Wings

RAIN ON MY WINGS

For salient splatters of breaths,
Shoves my devastating mind in franchise
I levitate, my wings taking me to a different place
Dripping drop down my wings just in case

Oh my wings, Protect me from the scorching rays of hate
Bruise my stressed palms with a blessed fate
Shade me in pure altruism
Caress me softly without cynicism

_*On my wings*_
_*Let it rain, let it rain*_
_*As my best companion do not fail*_
_*Swiftly and softly as the Nightingale*_
_*Beneath Cupid's heart may you lay*_

As long as rays of sunshine
And your fingers long for mine
Grace my face and shades my brow
Stay with me, inspite of time's remorseful plough
