Raincoming Poem by Sanjukta Nag

Raincoming

Stygian cloud enshrouds the sun
To glow golden around the edge.

Grasshopper begins rainy day song
Behind the African umbrella sedge.

Annoyed wind is rattling windows
Memory drips from heart’s ledge.

Sudden rain obstructs passerby
To go and accomplish his pledge.

The arrival of rain beautifully expressed through visible signs! The play of words, edge, sedge, ledge and pledge imparts a special beauty to the poem!
