Ramadan Poem by Shehu Abubakar Niasse

Ramadan

Rating: 5.0

Ramadan Mabruk
Last year were those clamouring voices
Of course, were of its (Ramadan)departure
Coming in of this month has aroused delighted noises
Peace, serenity and more tagged with it sent us into rapture
Sunset and twilight call for water and food
When the Muezzin has called to prayer from where he stood
The moon has appeared
Gone the mulky cloud
The Devil weeps; none can be snared
Now into mosques, hundreds of people crowd
Friends, brothers when you wake, wake me
Say your prayers aloud
Any gathering you go, take me
Promise I will answer at once and do you proud.
