Ramadan, a time for sacrifice and abstinence
Ramadan a religious obligation and a tradition followed by every Muslim for centuries;
Ramadan a celebration of unity and brotherhood
Ramadan a month for fasting and eating together a meal called Iftar after breaking the fast;
Ramadan a month for all Muslims brothers and sisters
to fast from dawn to sunset,
Ramadan begins with fasting before dawn with suhoor
Ramadan makes Muslims invite family and friends
to eat together when they break their fast;
Ramadan a month to pray and recite Quranic verses
Ramadan a time promote charity and acts of kindness
which are enforced by Islam where zakat and sadaqah
are offered as alms to those who are poor and in need;
Ramadan encourages actions of compulsory charity
Ramadan thus redirects the heart not to be selfish
or chase worldly possessions,
Ramadan encourages sacrifice and empathy
for those who are less fortunate,
Ramadan teaches to practice self-discipline and self-control
Ramadan empowers muslims to be more kind
as zakat is a true depiction of generosity to humanity
At Ramadan time I have seen zakat being given
to the needy and it made me feel so proud to see the kindness the Muslims show to those who are less fortunate.
Ramadan invokes a devoutness in muslims to their faith
Ramadan as a religious duty has passed from one muslim generation to another muslim generation so loyally
that even little children observe Ramadan and fasting
with great fervency and enthusiasm;
Ramadan still an ardent feast celebrated and revered by every Muslim whether rich or poor
Ramadan still has its aura and unity whether fear and pain of a virus is looming in their cities
Ramadan makes Muslims always so faithful to the five pillars of Islam
Ramadan a sign of respect and gratitude to Allah's everlasting Benevolence.
