Re-Bond Yourself With Those Who You Hate To Love Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Re-Bond Yourself With Those Who You Hate To Love

Seven days of love
as each day of the week
allots an opportunity
to own or lease
friendship or enmity
gentleness or wickedness
happiness or gloom
which on the floor of this earth ebbs
without dis-approvals or permissions.

Monday morning - a day for realizations
whether all what was done
was done in kindness of faith
or was it in the interest of just one self.

Tuesday - gives a chance
to plan amendments and alterations,
if any injury or harm
has been imposed upon others by blatant acts
or by unworthiness of rigid notions.

On Wednesday - select the right recourse,
turn around the wheels of restitution,
return to those what you have taken away
from their wallet of prosperity;
if endless guilt assists thy intent
separate decisiveness over prerogatives,
ease resentment by love not by condemnation;
if awareness asks to surrender thy pride
lose, to win yourself the trophy of solace.

Thursday permits you to secure an insight
to transfer yourself to the pedestal of liberty
where thy conscience will fly with freedom
waiting for no justifications or repantence,
let modesty and morality unite to dispel
the inhibitions cast upon you by yourself,
keep truth afloat, keep doubts in a boat
yesterday was old, today is tomorrow
change the energy of others thoughts
be good or bad, betterness always the better step.

Keep Friday for prayers and introspection,
ask forgiveness with your own heart
to absolve yourself from dismay,
let the world keep rotating
while your feet keep walking
upon those pebbles of confidence;
fall a hundred times if you stumble
but rise up and walk again
like the child who never stops till he can run.

Saturday - check the charts
the pain and losses you have caused to others
the gains and profits you have created for yourself
by depriving others of truth and justice
and if your soul keeps oscillating
like a restless pendulum
seek even thy foe and recover your peace
before thy own hatred boomerangs
and dismantles your own fate and honor.

Take Sunday to dance and sing with joy
make thy goodness exceed its length,
be nice to thyself and to others,
re-affirm your love to those you love
re-bond with those you hate to love
for the lack of that love creates a hatred in you
loving back will make that hatred vanish away.

And as you retrospect in silence
in calmness question yourself-
did you really abide by
what you could not change
or did you change yourself
to abide by what was impossible to change;
in that answer you will know
how closer you are to God.
