Ramblings Of A Prayer Poem by Kathleen West

Ramblings Of A Prayer

Rating: 3.0

Dear Lord God, please send me your divine grace
I come to you on bended knee in my hour of need
I come to you in the simplicity of a child
Asking my Father for comfort and guidance
Knowing you know what is best for me
I do not ask for specific things because,
As a child does not know what they need
I too, do not know what I need to find comfort
And the pain of my own human failings cause me much sorrow.

Dear Lord God, I ask you to open my heart
And empty me of all that is causing me to despair
Please open my eyes so that I may see clearly my path
My vision is limited to what I know,
Please open my mind so that I may learn from my mistakes
And be open to the opportunities before me
Please open my ears that I may hear your voice in others
And may my actions be pleasing in your sight.

Dear Lord God, I thank you for your divine grace
I thank you for your unending mercy and forgiveness
I thank you for my faith and my conscience that guides me
It is a part of everything I do and think.
I thank you for the family and friends who are in my life
But most of all, Dear Lord God, I thank you for your Love
It is alive in me and gives me hope and joy till the end of my days.

Amen
