Rare Bird Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Rare Bird

A small fluttering bird flew under the valance
Its feathers were neon blue and pastel yellow
It sang like no other…its notes were very rare
Befuddled… it flew into a bowl of red jello

Finding the substance to be quite elastic...
bouncing dizzily… to and fro
landing haphazardly stiff-legged upside down
wishing he'd been able to avoid this woe

Before he knew someone had capture him
under an empty cup… why he didn't know
He lay very still until his breath became faint
With a tilt, light peered in… he heard a meow

As if his dismal dilemma wasn't bad enough
the forces of what were to be began to flow
With a sudden start… he flew straight up
to the ceiling… then straight out the window

In conclusion it must be said…
a rare bird must be careful as it goes
Otherwise it might end up making
a hasty exit or taking the final bow of repose

I love it :) animal instinct could be sharper could be wilder but that's how nature works... I love how life pasted in this poem, it breathing a lesson to gain! ...nothing but just nice! ! _Unwritten Soul
