Raspa Poem by Juan Olivarez

Raspa

Snowcone to you, raspa to me,
Tamarind flavored ecstasy.
Mexican raspas, simply sublime,
Raspberry, coconut, bubble gum, lime.
Who makes the best raspas in town?
Other snowcones just let me down,
Hawaiin shaved ice, give a break,
Just try a raspa, for goodness sake.
The one true original, can only be,
A raspa flavored so delicately.
A rainbow of flavors made to please,
Sitting in the shade feeling the breeze.
A treat for any discerning taste,
You won't let a dropp of it go to waste.
Raspas in lemon, cherry so fine,
Raspas will drive you out of your mind.
The perfect treat on a hot summer's day,
Get a tamarind raspa without delay.
