Reaching Out Poem by Dean Meredith

Reaching Out

I saw you
On the edge of the room
I felt you
Come closer
Next to me
I heard you
Reaching out
Dark eyed
Freckles and all
I wanted
To taste you
Just for me
Ludicrous in my dreaming
I knew you somehow
The split in your dress
At the back
And your white thighs
Luring all the sunlight in
Luring my eyes in
Coward that I am
Brave watching wanting coward I am
Knowing only good taste
At the hotel later
The young girl
Dark eyed too
A daisy
To your blood rose
How I yearned for thorns
And as traffic drove by
In my room alone
You were with me
Reaching out
Across a universe
Through our occult
And I came so hard
Among white and freckles
And dark beauty
Hoping you were filled
And exalted too
Having reached out
And touched
And felt
