Real Poem by Brandi Guthrie

Real

Rating: 5.0

This territory is something else
These sore feet leave no prints.
I can fly if I`m locked inside myself.
For a moment I regain some sense.
Maybe we just got lost again,
Along the road to what feels real.
Maybe those kisses leave a stain
All over a heart once unable to heal.
All the lives we stand to shatter
Never signed on for all the pain.,
But farewells will likely make me sadder
Suffering the storm while invoking the rain.
I can drown in your ocean colored eyes
And disintegrate beneath your fingers.
But I`m not skilled at raw good-byes.
Or the tenderness that tends to linger.
Forget the struggle and escape with me
Into an eternity of sweet surrender.
For these summer days shall always keep
The moments of a true love`s endeavors.
