Reality Poem by Mandee Blair

Reality

Working so hard to be that girl
The girl that everyone thinks I can’t be
But I am the woman that no one can see
Dreaming of what I want & striving’ for what I wish for
Pushing through so many locked doors
Missing what I wanted & wondering what I needed
All the while it was just me
The most critical & damaging ruined what I thought
Beyond the nice cars and fancy homes, I can’t be bought
Missing out on what I needed most
Love was always the missing host
It paralyzes me when I think that all could be reformed
Life is so much more then diamonds and pearls
Your life is measured but never by the depths of mine
I loved you but me … you would never give the time

I agree with Mel you show so much of your self in your poetry. You weave your words into a quilt of covering to the reader.lovely
