Reborn Poem by Stefanie Fontker

Reborn

A dumb girl who hates
Only herself never
The ones that deserve it
She stabs at the love
That meets between
Her meatless legs
I watch her, disturbed
Intrigued and breathless
I want to stop her
But I cannot move
Before I can decipher
What has occurred
She is finished, tired
Leaning back into herself
It is too late to save
Her essence, her label
Purified and scorched
Burned thoroughly
Only to be reborn
I see death, and life
In one, intertwined
And in that moment
She is more beautiful
Than I can ever remember

I could connect with the 'energy'. The punchlines kept coming. The changing nature of the scenes and the swift flow of words, brings the whole piece together quite majestically. I love the concluding line, 'she is more...' tfs 10/10
