Recollections Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Recollections

Often overlooked by the passersby
When the gaze is straight ahead
Footsteps inevitably lead to conjecture
When travels are spent and all is said

Everywhere there are subtle messages
Written by mute celestial surveyors…
Between the cracks of aging rocks
Attended by silent critters with sensors

Was the destination met with satisfaction?
Was realization of accomplishment…
Found while looking for a long sought goal…
Does your stare reveal befuddlement…

As a blur appears in fast motion
Many markers stand in bygone places
Fragrant flowers commemorate and wither
Celebrating traces of familiar faces
