Red Republican Said,

Rating: 5.0

we chose red for the alliteration
ignoring the politics before.

We're now livid
that red is red.
We'd rather red was blue.

Nothin' doin',
said blue Democrat,
blue's not for exchange for red.

Let's deal;
we'll sell blue to you for a billion
and adopt purple for us instead.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
it's as recent as 2000 that red has settled for Republican and blue for Democrat. It's not cemented.
Swinging states could be mauve and light blue.
