Sarah Child

Reflections - Poem by Sarah Child

I look into a mirror
And see four different faces looking back at me
All are mine-but none are me
One seeks solitude-longing for the darkness
Two wants to travel the realms-and feel the adrenaline
Three seeks revenge-only knowing hatred
Four is an outcast-cold and alone-wanting nothing more but to be held
Each has its own heart-its own mind
Revealing themselves one at a time
One-two-three-four
You never know which one you’ll get

    one two three four five,
at least you know ur alive
    So u have many faces
wearing each one in different places
go into the stream of life
get a husband get a wife
so them a face of deception
upon it you get a nice reception
    they like what they see
as long as they see u and not me
    my reality is not real
cause this face I have cannot feel
    the lies it holds
    the truth never unfolds
    I can decieve you forever
cause my faces are very clever.
