A river flows quietly, yet carries storms unseen,
its waters stained with the echoes of yesterday.
I stand on the bank, watching its endless motion,
a mirror of my days, both tender and unkind.
The sun rises, a golden promise whispered,
but shadows stretch long, clinging to its light.
Each moment, fleeting and fragile,
slips through my grasp like sand in restless winds.
Laughter once danced in the halls of my mind,
now softened into whispers, barely remembered.
Grief, a silent companion, sits beside me,
its weight familiar, its lessons etched deep.
Dreams
linger like faded constellations,
scattered across a vast and quiet night.
Some were chased, others abandoned,
but all left footprints in the soil of my being.
I look into the river and see myself,
not as I was, but as I've become---
a mosaic of broken pieces,
held together by the glue of time and will.
The current moves onward, and so must I,
carrying with me the echoes, the burdens,
the fleeting glimpses of joy that linger still,
a reflection of life, unfinished yet whole.
