Refuse Poem by Dale Zeiler

Refuse

Rating: 5.0

When hate is projected,
Repel it with pity.
When confronted by hate,
Offer the concept of love.
When wounded by hate,
Heal yourself with the power of faith.
When surrounded by hate,
Brothers and sisters, it's time to educate!
Hate cannot grow,
If we refuse to produce it.
To enable the birth of any hate,
Even the concept of hating hate,
Would be defecting from the power of love.
Leaving a hypocrite helpless,
Drifting in hate's endless void.
Too lost in emotions, to remember the key.
Forgive hate's treachery, forgive yourself,
And refuse to hate, even hate itself.

Love is infinitely more satisfying emotion than hatred, and forgiveness is an attribute of the strong not the weak. A well articulated piece of poetry, nicely encapsulated and penned with insight to capture the conviction of the poet. I concur with your point of view. A good poem indeed. Thanks for sharing.
