Then
Meaning; I was a kid
We went to Shah-Abdul-Azim
The minarets and the dome
Meant beautiful but the stark
Shined as the most attractive.

Black and white
Long neck
Long beak
Long legs
And far…unreachable
-watch but don't touch
Instead
In the cage
The small bird
Was fooled to be
The income for him
He had many envelopes
Small…same size…
People came, paid
And the man told the bird
And the bird pulled an envelope
And it was given to the payer…

I lean against the glass
In Eaton Centre
A man has a dog
He throws the ball
The dog catches it

No change
