Regret Poem by bill nye the science guy

Regret

I don't want to die
with no scars
and no fights
at no bars
and no driving fast cars.
I want to live quick and
die slow
looking out my window
content to know
flesh makes grass grow.

I want comfort
and love and books
by the fire
and movies and
to look back on the prior.
Don't want to be alone
but I'm grown and
I know lonely so
I can go it alone.

Now I'm done growing
and I sigh and I moan
and I stare at my face
in the face of a lake
and I wonder
how I got this way.
It blows me away
how much I just stayed
instead of going
I just sat and
I stared.
Cried that nobody cared
and how poorly I fared.

I have to tell you that
the biggest mistake
anyone can make
is to take your life
and throw it to waste.
