Regretable Measure Poem by D.N. Rebb

Regretable Measure

Reaping excessive but frivolous amusement
Uninvited, like an invariable mosquito nuisance
Remain overly tawdry in this troubled vicinity
This instant recourse offends all dignity
Disgrace with a contemptuous demeanor
Leaving this inflammatory reaction hard to clean up
Marginalized for immoderate consumption
Like a stroke that prepares the brain to malfunction
Why are we manifesting this redundant commotion?
As I review the childish tantrum in slow motion
Approval with no real primary purpose
No rightfulness to endorse that burden
Outright intimidation wrongfully inflicted
This particular result is far from realistic
Yet, I shamefully spawned this loose shamble
Pulled an amiss soul with whom to entangle
Now, unable to mend this bruised essence
Should we feel threatened by his ever presence?
An insufficient balance of consequential remorse
Restoring absolute trust, now part of the course
Vulnerable impressions stemming from this mishap
Like an undeclared cold war never willing to scrap
Withdraw any request for this random occurrence
Forgive me for such unnecessary disturbance
