Reins Poem by Hugh Faulk

Reins

This prison has no walls
no locks or chains
Still I can't free myself from these reins

Desire is a fire
It consumes you within
Until you're only left the ashes of sin

Only the weak can belong
The strong will hesitate
Once you find your pearl on a gate
