We'er Not Ready Poem by Hugh Faulk

We'er Not Ready

You're settin' on the edge of our bed
There's a tear in your eye
You're questioning if it's time
Time to say goodbye

I'm drivin' this car
Did I take it to far
I just needed some fresh air
I'm swearin' I just don't care

We're not ready
We're not ready to let go
Of each other or the reasons that we fight
So we'll hold on for another night
Cause we both know
We're not ready, We're not ready, We're not ready
To let go
You say it's the alcohol and the lack of a plan
I say you must have feelings for another man
So we take a moment of truth stand

We're not ready
We're not ready to let go
Of each other or the reasons that we fight
So we'll hold on for another night
Cause we both know
We're not ready, We're not ready, We're not ready
All the things we say to hurt each other
It's like a broken record...

It's just plays on...

And so on

Yeah... We're not ready
We're not ready to let go
Of each other or the reasons that we fight
So we'll hold on for another night
Cause we both know
We're not ready, We're not ready, We're not ready
To let go

We're just not ready
