Religious Adherence Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Religious Adherence

Rating: 3.5

Studies of the past kept in books, pamphlets, and articles,
giving an incessant direction to write poetry in.

Being tantalized time and again, religiously adhering to
the possibilities of an inner universe.

Playing and exercising throughout the past, circling forward
into the future where I will eventually succumb to the
existence I have been fulfilling with perceptions that never
fail to execute and amaze my mind.

Throughout expectant promises of life on earth, realizing
and wondering about the purposes that have held me together
so far.

THE POSSIBILITIES OF AN INNER UNIVERSE - We two are so in sync aconcerning the INNER UNIVERSE; that is a strong feature in both of our faiths. And so much of the material world tried to sever our delicate threads connecting us. But its existence and vbalue we affirm in so many of our poems we have built a fortress against the malign influence of a disbelieving world. Your second stanza through images of spiritual flight and perception show the parallel we live because the inner life has gifted us. And all of this make us more deeply human.
