Remember: It Is Written. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Remember: It Is Written.

Remember: It is Written.

When sharp words fly and cut so deep,
God's steady truth, your heart will keep.
Be silent, like a lamb led out,
No angry shouts, no fearful doubt.

Avoid the fights, the senseless fray,
Let foolish words just drift away.
Don't answer back, when fools begin,
Let quiet wisdom win within.

Your heart's a garden, guard it well,
From bitter seeds that others tell.
For those who curse, a blessing send,
On them, God's gentle love extend.

A soft reply, like calming rain,
Can turn away all hurt and pain.
Let God take charge, He knows the way,
He'll fight your battles every day.

The scornful words, just let them be,
Don't give them power over thee.
Walk in God's love, a steady stride,
With Him as your constant guide.

Another cheek, when struck you are,
His love shines brighter than a star.
Let good outshine the evil done,
Till victory is truly won.

In anger's heat, don't let words spill,
Be still, my soul, be calm and still.
Keep steady peace, a quiet mind,
True strength in calmness you will find.

No gossip whispered, no tale told,
Protect your tongue, be brave and bold.
Be quick to hear, but slow to say,
Let thoughtful words light up your way.

No evil for evil you return,
Let God's pure love within you burn.
Let vengeance wait, it's not your part,
God's justice lives within His heart.

Fear not the words that men may speak,
God's strength is yours, when you are weak.
With all you meet, seek peace to find,
Leave troubled thoughts far, far behind.

On God alone, your trust bestow,
He'll guide your steps where you should go.
Through trials faced, and hurt you bear,
Rejoice in Him, beyond compare.

Walk with wise steps, in all you do,
Let grace adorn each word from you.
By words not swayed, nor set apart,
Find peace within your steadfast heart.

Your thoughts on good, you must set free,
This is God's truth, for you and me.
